GEORGE WALLACE, JR. TO SPEAK ON JANUARY 15th

The Dothan-Houston County Rotary Club is pleased to announce that George Wallace, Jr., the son of former governors George C. and Lurleen B. Wallace, will be speaking to the Dothan-Houston County Rotary Club at the Club’s regular meeting at The Dothan Country Club at noon on January 15th.  In 2012, George Wallace, Jr. released a book, entitled Governor George Wallace, The Man You Never Knew by The Man Who Knew Him Best.  The book is a revealing look at his father’s life from a family perspective, which gives readers a first hand account of his father’s personal struggle and ultimate repentance from the positions he took on the issue of race.

George Wallace, Jr. served the State of Alabama in two terms as State Treasurer and two terms on the Alabama Public Service Commission.

Rotary Club President, Steve Thompson, said, “Our Club is honored to host such a notable public figure as George Wallace, Jr. and we are eager to learn more about Governor Wallace, his time in office, and his change of heart and position after leaving office.”

For more information, please visit http://www.georgewallacejr.com/.  Members of the media are invited to attend the meeting and lunch will be provided at the Rotary Club’s expense.
